2005 ATHENS SANDLOT ALL STAR TEAM 9/10 YEAR OLD DIVISION!!!  

The Athens Sandlot All Star Team started their All-Star Season with winning their own Athens Invitational Tournament hosted at the West End Park June 26, 2005. This was the first tournament using the newly renovated fields of Fenway, Wrigley and Jacobs.  Athens went on to beat Gallipolis 4 to 3 championship game played on Jacobs Field. All the participating teams were excited to play at the newly renovated fields. Teams traveled from West Virginia and from various parts of Southeastern Ohio to play. 

The week after, the Athens Sandlot Star Team won 1st place in the Vienna, West Virginia 2005 Invitational Tournament held in July 11, 2005. Athens beat Tri-C (Parkersburg, West Virginia) 7 to 0 in six innings. This was the first time since 1999 that a team was shutout in a Championship game in a Vienna Invitational Tournament.  

At the New Lexington Tournament, Athens finished in second place.
